What can we do to help Kyle?by Kyle & Vanessa on 10/04/12
by Vanessa's Mom, Linda Dunn
Like other family members and friends, I've read Vanessa and Kyle's last two blog posts with growing concern. Kyle's heath situation, while stable at present, is not improving despite almost a year of chemotherapy.
I've come to support their conclusion that it's now time to start preparing for the next treatment that they believe offers them the most hope: Immunepheresis. To learn more about this treatment, provided by Oncologist, Dr. Rigdon Lentz at his clinic in Germany, please see Vanessa's September 25th post, which explains the treatment in more detail.
The cost of Immunepheresis will be a huge burden - they expect treatment alone could amount to $180,000 - and obviously Kyle and Vanessa won't be able to cover the cost alone. If over the past months you've asked, "what can we do to help?" please read on to learn how you can...
A group of us have developed the Beat It Draw, with tickets being sold for a chance to win some great prizes, to raise the money to help get Kyle to Germany for treatment. There is a page on Kyle's website, 'BEAT IT DRAW,' that explains the draw, features the prizes and provides a safe online ticket purchase form.
The first grand prize is a trip for two, including airfare to Honolulu, Hawaii and a 5-night stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa (generously donated by the Waikiki Beach Marriott). Click here to read more about this and other exciting prizes.
We're recruiting as many people as we can to create their own mini teams to reach a larger network of people that are inspired by Kyle's story and are willing to help us sell tickets. Tickets are priced at $100 per ticket or a 3-pack for $250. (Please contact me if you think you can put a team together to help us).
The Beat It Draw will be a huge challenge for us - but not nearly as big as the relentless challenges Kyle and Vanessa face every single day. So please, join me in creating your team, selling tickets, buying tickets, donating a prize... whatever you can do to help make the draw a success will be most appreciated.

Yours in hope,
(Vanessa's very proud Mom)
